About Recolor

What this site is

Recolor is a web app for making and editing images with AI, built around the search “change color of image”. You write a prompt or upload a picture to edit, see the price in credits before anything is charged, and download the finished file.

Who runs it

Recolor is operated by Cicadas. The same team writes the pages, runs every example you see here and answers support email.

We are independent. Recolor is not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by Google. We call the model through fal.ai, a third-party model platform. Model names belong to their owners and are used here only to say which model a page runs.

Our main site is Cicadas, which offers other AI models. Accounts and credits on the two sites are separate.

How the examples are made

Every image shown on this site was made with the model named beside it, with the prompt printed under it. Each one keeps its settings, the date, the provider's request ID and what the provider charged. An edit is shown with the picture it started from. The notes say what went wrong as well as what worked: details that change, text that comes out garbled, parts of a picture that were changed without being asked.

Numbers on the site (prices, sizes, shapes) carry the source they were read from and the date they were last checked. When we have not measured something, the page says so.

How we make money

You buy credits and spend them on generations. The exact credit cost is shown before you generate. If a generation fails, or the file fails our check, the credits come back automatically. A finished image that you do not like is still charged. See the refund policy.

We do not sell your personal information. See the privacy policy.

Data and security

• Generation: when you generate, the model provider receives your prompt, your image if you uploaded one, and your settings, through fal.ai.
• Payments: handled by a third-party payment processor. We never see or store full card numbers.
• Your files: results belong to your account. Finished images are stored privately and only your signed-in account can open them.
